The Erskine College chapel ceased being “pristine” when the ridiculous-looking table [see second-to-last photo] was placed in the sanctuary in front of the altar. That unnecessary addition – totally out of harmony with the surroundings – was most certainly NOT there when I visited on various occasions in the early 1990’s. It should be removed. One day, one hopes, that gem of a chapel will be utilised once more for why it was built in the first place – the celebration of the Mass.
